The Mount Pleasant Community Centre is seeking certified Aerobics / Group Fitness instructors with a flexible schedule. The qualified instructor should possess strong leadership skills, experience working with adults and older adults and be highly organized and proactive.


Education and Experience:

• Considerable knowledge and experience in fitness and the use of fitness equipment
• Registered Fitness Leader with BCRPA or equivalent as a Group Fitness Instructor
• Current First Aid and Cardio–Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate with AED

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of the methods used in proper exercise programs and the use of exercise equipment
• Knowledge of the theory of movement, body mechanics and the prevention and management of injuries
• Demonstrated ability to instruct in a large group setting
• Demonstrated ability to instruct a complete exercise class using your own unique style
• Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and strong leadership skills
• Ability to meet and deal tactfully with the public and maintain control and exercise discipline with tact and consistency
• Ability to answer general and specific questions related to physical fitness and exercise
• Ability to explain and review PAR–Q forms to participants
