Vancouver Municipal Election All Candidates Meeting set for September 23, 2026 at Mount Pleasant Community Centre

Vancouver, BC – On September 23rd, 2026, voters will have an opportunity to see, hear, and compare candidates for both the Vancouver Park Board and City Council who are running in our Municipal Election. The event will be held at Mount Pleasant Community Centre, located at 1 Kingsway, starting at 7:00 PM.

This all candidates meeting is a key opportunity for members of the public, and the media, to hear candidates discuss their platforms, respond directly to questions from community members, and present their vision.

The event, hosted by the Mount Pleasant Community Centre Association in collaboration with the Strathcona Community Centre Association is open to the public and is expected to cover a wide range of issues important to Vancouverites. Representatives of the Community Centre Associations will ask the opening questions, after which members of the public will be invited to pose questions to the candidates in a moderated Q & A session. The event will once again be moderated by Alex Sasha Burton, and all candidates and members of the public are requested to respect other participants.

“We expect our community members will ask a wide range of questions, including the candidates position on housing, Parks & Recreation and the role of the Park Board, climate action, safety, addiction, mental health, and affordability, including City of Vancouver finances and infrastructure” said Anita Romaniuk, Vice-President of the Mount Pleasant Community Centre Association. “Giving our community members opportunities like this one, where they get to see and hear directly from the candidates, is part of our responsibility as a community centre,” she added.
