The Mount Pleasant Pool Committee continues to advocate on behalf of the community for a replacement outdoor swimming pool, which has been identified through public consultation as the most desired recreational amenity in Mount Pleasant.
As a result of these many years of public engagement and support, Vancouver Park Board has prioritized the replacement pool in its official aquatic strategy, VanSplash, but it is still Not Funded!
Please join us in our continued advocacy work and help advance the prioritization of this project by sharing our petition with your friends and family. If you would like more information for getting involved, please contact the Mount Pleasant Community Centre at 604-257-3080 or by email at mtpleasantcc@vancouver.ca and ask them to refer you to the Pool Committee.
The Mount Pleasant Community Centre Association has raised and allocated $113,154 towards advocating for a replacement pool and potentially fund some optional features such as a diving board, pool cover, or water fountain when the pool is built. Mount Pleasant Outdoor Pool was included in the Vancouver Park Board’s Aquatic Strategy in 2019, but is still not funded.
We are petitioning the Vancouver Park Board and City of Vancouver to identify funding to build the pool by 2026.

Summary of MPCCA support for funding a replacement pool in Mount Pleasant
After extensive public consultation, the Vancouver Park Board approved a Master Plan for Mount Pleasant Community Park in 2009-2010, which included passive green space, sports courts, a skate park, a community garden, walking paths, picnic areas, a playground, and an outdoor swimming pool to replace the one that was demolished in 2009. Over 80% of participants of the public consultation ranked the outdoor pool as their highest priority.
